GHNA Open Space Task Force

This task force was established to inform GHNA and surrounding neighbors of issues regarding the Bear Canyon Arroyo and other areas of the open space.  The Mission of the GHNA Open Space Task Force is to inform neighbors of upcoming events, current proposals, and volunteer opportunities.

Proposed Plan for Bear Canyon Open Space Use Public Notification and Proposed Implementation:

A public meeting regarding the Bear Canyon Open Space (BCOS) Use Proposal was held on November 14, 2019.

The draft plan for future use of Bear Canyon Open Space presented at the meeting is posted at

The Open Space Division (OSD) announced that it will accept public comments on the plan through December 16th by email to

OSD agreed to a follow-up meeting to address comments and concerns before finalization of the plan. The date of this meeting has yet to be announced.

The OSD plan will be finalized in January 2020. A future meeting date will be announced, and neighborhood associations will be notified.
